Mr Dubz Energy Music EP

Project All Out Recordings set up for their 9th release to end the year, and this is undoubtly the biggest release from the Sheffield based label run by DJ Skillz. The man behind Energy Music is Mr Dubz the man responsible for the releases of Danky Skank as well as a personal favourite Face Time EP. This new EP (and I use the word EP loosely as its practically an album) shows Mr Dubz’s diversity as a producer through 12 bass heavy tracks which can be previewed on Soundcloud below!

If I have to pick a few stand out tracks the first would definitly be Grom, it takes me back to Bunga Bunga number 4, where I first witnessed the damage this producer could also cause with a pair of decks. It sums up the idea of energy music perfectally from start to finish and has that very rough and ready feel too it! Hopefully this track will get picked up and heard in a club near you.
The second track i’d like to highlight is a much more mellow choice but still encorporates the idea of energy. Back For More Part 1 has a lovely vocal sample that partners perfectally with the chosen synths. Can see this slotting in nicely with any bass driven set.
These two selections are at opposite ends of the spectrum but show his interpretation of club driven energy music! Although i’ve only highlighted these two as my favourite the whole EP is quality music from start to finish and I hope it does as well as it deserves..Lands 3rd of December!

DJ Q – Poison

DJ Q lets a new track loose on his Bandcamp for just £1 in the highest quality formats available, making this a no-brainer purchase. If you’re a proper Bassline fan then you’ll recognise the vocal from back in the day.

Walter Ego – Set Off EP – Girls Music

Sheffield based producer Walter Ego part of Bad Taste Records who were responsible for releasing “Calm Down” featuring Coco & K Dot last year is back with a brand new EP on Girls Music. For those who aren’t aware Girls Music is Toddla T’s label who also released Dibby Dibby Sound this year and is also originally from Sheffield!

For this new EP he drafted in Trim for “Set Off” aswell as Slick Don for “In Control” which are both bangers in their own right, its also nice to see visuals for both tracks as sometimes the “B Side” can often not recieve the same treatment. “In Control” also features one of my favourite landmarks within Sheffield so check out both the videos and make sure to grab the EP.

Ethan Ryan – Blueberry EP

New to the Project All Out Label Ethan Ryan who used to go by the alias of Tabz, may be a bit more familiar to the Bassline fans. Either way he’s back and this time with a brand new Grime release on the ever expanding Project All Out Label who have just released their 5th EP “FaceTime EP” by Mr Dubz.

This 5 track grime instrumental EP caters to many, whether its the melodic title track “Blueberry” or the collaboration with Chugz on “Bullet Bill” my personal favourite on the release. If you manage to catch DSL on his Audio Waxx show or Skillz on the Project All Out Show on BCR 103.1fm you will of had the opportunity to catch many of these instrumentals before, although I hope to hear a few local MC’s have a go at vocalling “Lock Jaw” with its stabby brass that is becoming familiar within the genre! Something a little different to what you may expect from Des Demure & Inna Riddim Records this week. Inna Riddin is an Australian based record label, check out their website.
