TS7 – Grade A EP

As mentioned in the promotional mix thread this release I have been very excited about since I first heard it in development. I had been supporting Coyote on their original release of Mella Dee’s CTRL which was also an awesome track. I then heard they were planning on releasing TS7′s Grade A which I had posted on our youtube channel a while back. As Coyote’s first release was pressed onto Vinyl I instantly hoped they would do the same for TS7′s release, and indeed they did which is great to all you vinyl DJ’s out there!

The EP its self contains the original from TS7 aswell as a house remix from Mella Dee (one half of Mista Men) aswell as Walton who has given the single a grime twist while still keeping that Bassline flavour from the original! Check out the three clips below aswell as the promotional mix and you will be able to get your hands on this towards the end of September!

Vinyl Purchase Link – Bassline vinyl is rare to come by especially from TS7 so grab a copy while you can and support what Coyote Records are trying to achieve!

Digital Purchase Link – Digitally purchase Grade A via Juno allowing you too get the  best quality available with the WAV format!

TS7 – Grade A Promo Mix

TS7 – Grade A Promo Mix

With TS7′s brand new release “Grade A” forthcoming on Coyote Records just around the corner he has put together a promotional mix of some of his own work aswell as some other familiar names such as DJ Q.

The mix shows just how diverse TS7 has become over the last year or so working with some huge names within the industry and forever expanding his creativity within UK genres! With names such as Tulisa and Afrokjack in the playlist its clear to see hes constantly progressing which is always good news for someone who is always loyal to the scene which first gave him his name! Also judging by the tracklist it looks like local action has signed DJ Q’s track “Trust Again” along with the TS7 remix which is great news after the success of Brandy & Coke!

Enjoy the mix and keep an eye out for the Grade A ep being released both digitally and on vinyl which im very exciting about as I cant remember the last time bassline was pressed! We will also hopefully be running a competition alongside Coyote records to give away a signed copy of Grade A on vinyl too one lucky reader, more news on that soon.

Make sure to follow Coyote Records on Soundcloud to keep up with the latest releases as they are definitly a label to watch over the next year!

TS7 – Nothing To Show EP

TS7 – Nothing To Show EP

TS7 recently announced that he will be releasing a new 4 track EP varying in genres but all heavy on bass! I featured clips of three of the tracks on the blog a few weeks ago after he uploaded them to soundcloud. A new addition has been made alongside the already featured clips. “Head Of State” is a dark 4×4 instrumental using various samples and its had tremendous feedback since it was first played on DJ Q’s show this week. You can hear a clip of Head Of State below along with the 3 other tracks featured!
“Nothing To Show” is the feature, which was first played by DJ Q on BBC 1xtra a few weeks back. The clip has a very atmospheric beginning with clever vocal chops from an unnamed male artist. It then drops into an upbeat organ/garage beat with the vocal chops continued throughout. What I find great about this track is that although it’s very up lifting you can still pick out those dark ts7 basses that you find in many of his 4×4 productions – Due to its multiple influences “Nothing to show” has had a great response from his fans which im really happy to see.

Real Love, yet again has a very smooth introduction with relaxing melodies complimented by female vocal chops. The bass in “Real Love” has an old school garage feel to it which you may not have expected as much from TS7, yet as the track continues and he begins to put his own twist on the garage feel, it becomes more apparent that TS7 is behind this smash of a track!

At times you may forget that this is infact a Bassline blog but “On My Own” quickly reminds you of the reason you are here! TS7 admittedly said himself that he went for a 2007 feel for “On My Own.” Now most producers who announce they have tried to bring back an older feel to Bassline have sounded very different, not only to 2007 but also to themselves. TS7 has not only managed to bring back that 2007 feel but at the same time it sounds upto date and relevant. While writing this im glad to see that its been the best recieved track out of the 3 clips which proves there is still a demand for bassline – 700 plays in a week isnt bad going!

Undisputed ft Ramzee – Certain Man EP

Undisputed ft Ramzee – Certain Man EP

When I first started the blog roughly one year ago I spoke to TS7 and questioned him on any up coming releases he had planned. Obviously Jam Volume 4 was the main one but he also informed me he had remixed Ramzee’s vocal of Certain Man. I instantly began my hunt to track down either the original or the remix so I could understand what kind of release it would be. To my luck, I quickly stumbled upon Undisputed’s Soundcloud which had a showreel for the release. Aswell as the remix from TS7 there was also one from Jargon V.A aka Tinie Tempah.

No release date had been announced and not many people were aware of the original or the remix, I thought it would be best to keep it quiet until one was announced rather than keep people in the dark after hearing the showreel for months on end! Yesterday (24/3/12) I was going about my business on twitter and I had a few tweets letting me know that a date had finally been agreed upon, and to my suprise it wasn’t a long wait (as it can sometimes be) as it was out the follow day!

I’m going to be honest and admit that funky is not usually my cup of tea but when I first heard the original from Undisputed & Ramzee I was pleasently suprised. The heavy hitting drums paired with Ramzee’s hook of “Certain Man” makes for a potential summer hit (perhaps explains why they held back the release)

Jargon V.A is a producer I first heard of from the track Dissapoint You on CheeseOnBread Records. I wasnt aware it was Tinie Tempah at the time although the fact he featured on the track was a clue! Jargon V.A takes this remix in the direction of Dubstep to help it reach every corner of the UK Music spectrum.

Last but certainly not least is TS7′s energy filled Bassline remix which really stands out to me as one of his best remixes as of late. The fast paced Bassline paired with the Certain Man vocal creates a smash hit. Although he has given the original a 4×4 remix, on the breakdowns he gives it a very light and uplifting feel which you would expect from one of his organ tracks. It’s very rare we get to hear both qualities paired up in one track but I really think TS7 has pulled it off with this remix! Check it out on the showreel below.

TS7 Trio!

TS7 Trio!

After releasing Jam Volume 4, easily the standout bassline release for me in 2011, TS7 has been hard at work in the studio and uploaded 3 new clips to his Soundcloud this week.

Clip number 1 is of “Nothing To Show” which was first played by DJ Q on BBC 1xtra a few weeks back. The clip has a very atmospheric beginning with clever vocal chops from an unnamed male artist. It then drops into an upbeat organ/garage beat with the vocal chops continued throughout. What I find great about this track is that although it’s very up lifting you can still pick out those dark ts7 basses that you find in many of his 4×4 productions  – Due to its multiple influences “Nothing to show” has had a great response from his fans and it looks like a release could be on the cards!

Baring in mind I was also listening to these clips in the order they were uploaded on Monday, “Real Love” was the second to appear just as quick as the first.

While writing this im glad to see that its been the best recieved track out of the 3 clips which proves there is still a demand for bassline – 700 plays in a week isnt bad going! It also looks like this could be released at some time within the near future so keep your eyes pealed.
